Australian Seascapes

These images are from last winter (summer in the Northern hemisphere, it was July). I was in Brisbane for a week where I was organizing a workshop at the University of Queensland. After this I spent close to a week in Melbourne, where I visited an old grad student at the University of Melbourne and gave a talk at the big national lab CSIRO. I also spent a small amount of time visiting some nice spots. One afternoon, Scott from CSIRO drove me, Anthony, Nicole and Sean to Phillip Island where we hiked a little along the coast, visited a Koala sanctuary and went to see the penguins come in from the sea at night (photography strictly forbidden). It was overcast and rainy most of the time so the photography was not spectacular, but still I got some nice images I think. Below are a few examples.
