I will be posting mostly from my own website in the future because of better control and better looking images, so update your links and bookmarks (I know I am oldfashioned). Future posts can be found here: https://lagemaatphoto.smugmug.com/Blog
Wow. The first real interaction on this site in years. I get comments all the time but they are all spam. This is finally a real question (and an answer to my long standing question if anybody subscribes to the rss feed on this site). I haven't found out how to enable an automatic rss feed on the other site. The way I do it there is really just a series of articles instead of a blog per se so I am hacking the smugmug tools to do it but at least I have control. Smugmug supplies automatic RSS feeds on the photo galleries but I am not yet sure how to do it on these 'blog' pages. Of course I can always manually create one.
Haha, yes, I've been subscribed via RSS. :) You could reach out to Stefan Bäurle https://www.stefanbaeurle.com/Blog/ and ask him how he did it; he has his blog integrated into SmugMug and there's an RSS feed. Not sure if it's important enough to you, but I don't know how to "follow" a site without subscribing to a feed, or some other form of notification.
Thanks for that pointer. Look like Stefan goes through feed burner and probably does it manually. Feedburner of course is owned by google and I just read they are phasing it out (being put in maintenance mode in google parlance) ;-)
Maintenance mode, good one, yep... I didn't even know that it was possible to manually add items to Feedburner feeds! I've stopped using them long ago, first in favor of FeedPress, now I just use the built-in WordPress ones...
I searched a little bit for "SmugMug RSS" and there appears to be a way to have RSS feeds... not sure though, as I don't have SmugMug myself. https://www.mamboupload.com/kb/how-to-share-smugmug-feeds/
I use the smugmug rss feeds on my galleries but they don't appear top autogenerate them for the pages method I use here. Might need to ask their support people
Does the new one have an RSS feed?
