Panning script for creating timelapses

You might remember a while ago I posted a few timelapses. One of a sunset and one of me staining the deck. Jeffrey friedl went a step further and wrote a very nice little perl script that you can use to create panning timelapses. Check it out here. Sean McCormack used it to create a nice panning timelapse of a beach that I embed below for your enjoyment:

This is an awesome tool and I'll be using it on some future timelapses.

  1. Wow, that was fast. I posted that last night and went to bed, intending to ping you about it today. I first made this for Sean just about the time you were posting your deck-staining timelapse, so naturally planned to bring it to your attention....

  2. Hi Jao, it's not just for panning. If you have a full crop and then crop in with the same aspect ration for the final image, the timelapse will zoom into that place.
